We had the pleasure of photographing 3 month old baby Scarlett – she is so precious! Deshun and I capture a lot of weddings, but it’s really tough to say what we love photographing better, our beautiful wedding couples or sweet little babies?! One thing for sure is that we’re totally in love with what we do and we are honored to get to photograph all the different moments and memories that life brings! xoxo ~ Yas + D

We’re excited to share this special shoot we got to be a part of for Ceremony Magazine. We were asked to photograph a children’s editorial spread for flower girl and ring bearer wedding fashions. One of the reasons we were looking forward to this session is that were asked if our kiddos could model, of course they’re used to being in front of the camera and from the photographs below you can see they had a great time. Although the children were modeling formal wear, our approach on this fashion shoot was to let the kids relax and capture them in their element and having fun! We brought along our stash of vintage cameras and the little cuties were thrilled to get to ‘take pictures’ of each other.

Once again we had the pleasure of photographing this beautiful family, and this time with newborn baby Maël. (love that name!) We wanted the feel of this newborn baby and family session to have a natural, organic feel, with tender closeups of this two week old baby boy. The interaction between baby Maël and his parents and big sister was so sweet, and we know that these are going to be such great memories for the family to look back on!

Below are a few highlights from Michelle and Trinele’s beautiful La Jolla wedding. This couple is just as cute as their rhyming names, and their bubbly personalities made their whole wedding day a pleasure to photograph. We are very fond of the La Valencia – the decor and lighting in this glamorous vintage hotel was a perfect location for the couple’s formal portraits. With the ceremony taking place at Cuvier Park and reception at Prospect Bar and Grill Lounge, this gave us the option of so many portrait locations in the La Jolla Cove area. Thank you Michelle and Trinele for having us be a part of your wedding. XoXo ~ Yas + D

For their engagement portrait session, Suzy and Joe wanted to incorporate a few of the things they love into the shoot to make their photographs more personal. The couple shares a love for espresso (just one of the reasons why we are going to get along with this couple just fine) and one of their ideas was to capture a few scenes of them enjoying a latte together. Suzy and Joe also like to go to the desert in Joe’s truck and we thought it was a great idea when they mentioned the possibility of using it as a personal prop during the session. Joe put a lot of work into fixing the truck up (the truck now has doors on it but we’re glad we got to photograph before they got put on, there were so many great posing options this way) and incorporating this in a few shots with Suzy’s signature red lips and red heels made for some of our favorite shots in the session….although we had a lot of faves! We are so excited to photograph their wedding in New York this summer! Thanks Suzy and Joe for being so fun to work with. ~xoxo~ yas + d

It was such a treat for us to photograph Kallie and Blake’s wedding at the delightful 130 acre Calamigos Ranch in Malibu, CA. This vast venue is home of ‘The Biggest Loser’, it was neat to see the house and the area where the show is filmed. Kallie and Blake are such a fun loving couple – and when you’ve got a bride who kicks off her wedding heels the moment she sees a tree that she has to climb, you’ve got a sure sign to a super fun and lively wedding day. (and it was!) Not enough good things to say about this charming ranch. Thanks Kallie and Blake for having us along for the ride and entrusting us with your special memories. We love you xoxo ~ yas + d.

Twin Oaks Garden Estate is one of our favorite Garden wedding venues, and we were thrilled to find out that Laura and Trevor’s wedding got featured in Ceremony Wedding Magazine. We were honored to work with this sweet couple and we had so much fun capturing all the sweet, funny, happy moments, and all the beautiful details that were carefully and lovingly thought out. (and it was so very beautiful)
Love Story:
Seven years prior to their wedding day, Trevor spotted a beautiful girl on a Carlsbad beach. He recounted that story to Laura on their special day, typing in out and sending it to her on a heart shaped note card. On the cusp of their new chapter, it was a touching remembrance of how their love began.

Wedding Pros:
Cake/Caterer – Twin Oaks House & Gardens
Floral Design – Jerri Disney
Transportation – Rolls Livery
Entertainment – Brian Falton
Officiant – Mikel Meringa
