Deshun and I are so excited to open our new studio doors, and share these images of our Grand Opening Celebration. As a husband and wife team, we have been capturing weddings and portraits for going on 9 years. One of our goals was to have a studio that we could not only meet with clients in, but also photograph in studio sessions with creative lighting and backdrops, as an addition to the on location photography that we offer. We are so thankful to have met so many amazing wedding couples, many of whom have become our friends, as we have journeyed with them in capturing all of the moments life brings. We also want to thank the wonderful vendors who helped make our celebration a success, by working together to create the Vintage Hollywood ‘PINK’ Glam themed cocktail party event that we envisioned. Special thanks to Courtney from ‘After the Engagement’ for coordinating our entire event so that we could concentrate on getting the inside of our studio ready in time and still have a fabulous party! The cute cupcakes with flavors such as ‘Chocolate Salted Caramel’, which I know for sure was the crowd favorite that evening, are by ‘Hey There Cupcake’, and the extra sweet dessert bar with a decadent pink theme was provided by ‘Tailored Sweets’, so pretty and creatively done! Gourmet Yumminess by ‘Toast Catering’ with h’ordeuvre offerings of Ahi Wasabi Tuna on Wonton Crisps, Mini Chicken Quesadillas, and my favorite the Duck Tacos with Orange Sauce. Custom plush lounge furniture and pink carpet by ‘Lounge Appeal’, music, lighting, and ambiance by Vynce and Jesse and crew of ‘Music Phreek’, faces (and funny stories from Dave as you get drawn) by ‘Caricatures by Dave’, beer bottle and succulent floral arrangements by ‘Sweet Florescence’ and stationery and menu cards by ‘Paper Scissors Print’. We’re thanking the Lord for his many blessings and provisions as we open this studio, and receive his guidance as we give our all to exceed our clients expectations. And we have our clients to thank for supporting us and entrusting their precious moments for us to capture. With much Love, Yasmine + Deshun……..

We were so glad to be able to give back by welcoming high schoolers to our studio to shadow us and learn about a field they are interested in for Escondido Job Shadow Day. They got to see what a day at the studio was like for us, and to see if it was a career they would be interested in pursuing in the future. We also did a little photoshoot just for the students so that they would have the chance to hold a camera in their hands and actually shoot. We had them photograph each other, at first they were really shy but they got the hang of it. We preset all our studio lights for them so that all they had to concentrate on was working the camera, and slight posing and composition of the subject. All the portrait images you see here were taken by the students and then enhanced by them as we guided them through our photo editing software. They did an amazing job and we loved having them!
If you’re looking for something fun and unique to do for your bachelorette party – this could be it! I love the creative ideas that Erica and her friends came up with to celebrate in a fun girly way! There are so many amazing moments from this day, but here’s a few images to tell the story. We started by shooting on the lawn at Humphrey’s By The Bay Hotel, where the girls were dressed in bright colored dresses with flowers in their hair. Hula hoops, bubbles, and croquet were a part of the fun. The girls took some shots in swimsuits and heels by the pool, and then we headed to the hotel room for mini boudoir sessions! More shots followed in the lobby for the ‘bachelorette party dresses’ part of the photo shoot, then followed with Downtown San Diego party scene shots at Red Circle (where Erica entered a beauty contest that happened to be going on that night, spur of the moment, and won a cash prize!) and Vin De Syrah Wine Parlor. If you’ve never been to Syrah, I highly recommend a visit, this Alice In Wonderland themed Wine Bar is like nothing I’ve ever seen before! The decor and atmosphere are fabulously amazing! – don’t know how to describe it so I’ll just say that.
