Headshots For Dancer Jeremy Zapanta

We had the opportunity to create something special for Jeremy’s professional dance headshots.  He has been traveling to out of state auditions and needed some new headshots.  Visualizing the perfect location and lighting with an edge, we set out to bring the best out in the talented dancer for this shoot.  He’s got some moves, this was a fun shoot!

Jeremy Zapanta is a contemporary and classic ballet dancer.  He recently performed in the Nutcracker Ballet at the Fox Theater, Riverside.Jeremy Zapanta’s journey from self-proclaimed jock to dancer began in a Burbank ballet school when he was 13. While watching his younger sister perform a routine, he nudged his mother and said, “I think I can do that.”

To his surprise, he wasn’t as naturally gifted in dance as he was in baseball and soccer.

“I took my first ballet class and hated it,” he recalls. “I was so sore afterwards. I didn’t know a plié from a tendu.”

Dance became a hobby, then a passion and finally a career goal for Zapanta.  He auditioned for professional ballet companies after graduating from high school and performed in regional productions of The Nutcracker.

Handlery Resort Wedding Photography San Diego, Janet + Ken

Our Handlery Hotel and Resort wedding couple Janet and Ken were such a fun couple to work with, we love their friends and family’s personalities and sense of humor, it was a fabulous day all around!  Below are just a few wedding photography teasers that we chose (to tease the couple of course, but hopefully to also help with the curiosity and anxiousness in seeing wedding day images).  We just love this image of the groom and groomsmen, they look so GQ, love the lighting and feel of this pre wedding image.  The wedding couple chose not to see each other prior to the ceremony, and we have a photograph of Janet below in the Handlery lobby, she looks so beautiful and I love how our auxiliary light magic gives a glow and mood to this scene.  Enjoy!  We can’t wait to post more, stay tuned, friends and family, you are welcome to right click and use these images on Facebook as long as our watermark stays on the images.  Wedding bouquet by Homeland Florist. Newborn Baby Portrait Photography San Diego | 5 week old baby Kara

Such beautiful innocence!  It was a pleasure working with Tracy and Gregg and their newborn baby girl Kara at our studio.  Tracy brought inspiring accessories for baby, such as ribbon and tulle (fun!), bows, a moses basket, and Kara’s favorite stuffed animal toy.  The best props were mommy and daddy’s hands, arms, and lips,  we adore the closeup images of Kara being held and loved by her parents!  We hope you enjoy looking at these as much as we had creating them!  Babies are such a blessing and we love being a part of capturing the bundles of joy!

San Diego Wild Animal Safari Park Wedding Photography :: Jennifer + Joshua

Below are a few of our favorite photographs from Jennifer and Joshua’s San Diego Wild Animal Safari Park wedding.  What a fun loving couple, they just enjoy not taking things so seriously, this couple and wedding bridal party were a ball to be around!  I think their wedding cake says it all – I adore this cake, and it was a cake that Jennifer’s grandmother used to make for celebrations, so how sweet for Jennifer to keep up the tradition!  It was a perfect day for a wedding, so excited that the butterfly exhibit was in season and that the butterflies landed all over the bride and groom for a few formal shots we snuck in during the wedding reception!  Exotic wedding florals by Posies Flowers, and special thanks to wedding coordinator Absolutely Events for making the day flow perfectly! Local Highschools Job Shadow Day

We were so glad to be able to give back by welcoming high schoolers to our studio to shadow us and learn about a field they are interested in for Escondido Job Shadow Day. They got to see what a day at the studio was like for us, and to see if it was a career they would be interested in pursuing in the future. We also did a little photoshoot just for the students so that they would have the chance to hold a camera in their hands and actually shoot. We had them photograph each other, at first they were really shy but they got the hang of it. We preset all our studio lights for them so that all they had to concentrate on was working the camera, and slight posing and composition of the subject. All the portrait images you see here were taken by the students and then enhanced by them as we guided them through our photo editing software. They did an amazing job and we loved having them!
