Photojournalistic Wedding Photography – Candid Moments

Candid, photojournalistic wedding photography is our approach for the majority of the images we capture on the wedding day.  Below are a few of our favorite story-telling images that were captured candidly and that make us smile.  Our specialty is blending traditional and photojournalistic wedding photography to ensure that key moments/groups of people don’t get missed but that the photos still hold a natural quality that tell the story of the day/wedding couple.  The key is adding in the fashion flair to our photos and videos to bring in the wow factor, achieved by the flattering off camera lighting setups brought to every event.  We strive to create imagery that is true to the couple’s/families’ personalities, that are filled with the many emotions the wedding day will lend.  Our goal is to capture and enhance every wedding with an artistic eye true to the Dapper Images fashion forward style, but with the flexibility needed to blend our ideas with the couple’s personal style/preferences.  This will ensure that the clients who have given us the honor of capturing their love receive the aesthetic anticipated, but that their wedding photography is as unique as they are.  In the next few weeks we’ll be posting more of our favorite photojournalistic wedding photography moments.

Admiral Kidd Wedding Photography, San Diego :: Jessica + Michael

It is rare that we capture a morning wedding, this 10 o’clock a.m. wedding took place on a slightly overcast morning, overlooking the ocean and San Diego skyline.  I love that Jessica wore her cousin’s pearls as her ‘something borrowed’,  Jessica’s late grandmother had given them to her cousin, and her cousin lent it to the bride for the wedding.  What really caught our eye is the 205 year old lace veil that Jessica wore.  It was originally a lace tablecloth that her grandmother obtained from Brussels, and turned into a veil for her wedding in 1955.  It was then worn by the bride’s mother and aunt at their wedding, and now it was Jessica’s turn!  Jessica’s family baked and decorated dozens of cute cupcakes to accompany the sweet pearl and rosette wedding cake that the couple cut.  Michael is in the navy, and in a few months will be stationed in Italy for three years, the couple is excited for their new life there, and are calling it their ‘3 year Italian Honeymoon’

Breaker's Beach Coronado Wedding :: Alea + Nico

This Coronado wedding at Breaker’s Beach was so much fun, this group really knows how to party!  Alea got ready at the Coronado Marriott, I love all the candid shots that took place, as well as capturing all the bride’s pretty details in a creative way.  Top Cat Limo took Alea and her girls to Breaker Beach where she and Nico exchanged vows overlooking the ocean.  The golf course and beach were perfect for formal shots, I love how the wind was blowing Alea’s wavy curls.  So much emotion for this couple as this wedding brought on a big change in their lives, no more living long distance, but moving together to San Francisco to be together and start their lives.  So much fun to watch Nico and his dad dance at the wedding, daddy definitely taught his boys to dance, very entertaining.
