Omni La Costa Gatsby Wedding

Inspired by the Great Gatsby theme, Kristi and Mike chose the Omni La Costa for their wedding venue.

Luxury Wedding…..Black and Gold Details …. Outdoor Ceremony…..Ballroom Reception

The couple chose the hotel’s Orchid Terrace for the site of their wedding ceremony. During the golden hour the bride and her father walked down the aisle in the presence of 150 of their close friends and family. The couple exchanged vows in a glittering, over the top ceremony decor set off by the beautiful resort scenery. The 1920s-themed reception featured multiple chandeliers, sequins and golds, sparkly crystals, rich black feathers, shiny black candelabras, and orchids, orchids, orchids! Kristi knew exactly what she was looking for and with the help of her coordinator Gina and Blush Botanicals, the space was transformed for an extravagant celebration. From the gourmet food station offerings, to the over the top entertainment setup, opulent decor and top shelf bar – no expense was spared to truly bring the Great Gatsby Wedding Theme to life for their guests.

Although Jennifer is an event planner herself, she knew how important it was to have a wedding event planner to make the day go smoothly for the couple and the guests. Jenny from Luxe Events did a fabulous job of coordinating and designing this opulent wedding with gilded golds, blushes and champagnes. The El Cortez is a dramatic venue in itself with spanish charm surrounded by San Diego’s stunning skyline. Rabbi Ian gives such heartfelt and meaningful ceremonies and in the video below you’ll see how beautifully this Jewish wedding came together. We had a great time with the lively bridal party and the family that knows how to party, below are a few images that tell the story of Brian and Jennifer’s most special day.

San Diego Engagement Session Photography

Glenn and Danielle’s romantic themed San Diego engagement session tied into the style of their wedding and incorporated their interests into the photography. The couple’s wedding colors are blush and silver/white with mercury glass and lace accents. Danielle’s dress was a perfect choice for the shoot, and her idea of incorporating lace accents into the Save the Date cards brought it all together! Sushi is one of the fun foods the couple enjoys together, and bringing along their sushi set and sharing a bite al fresco brought many candid smiles our way. Everytime we look at these engagement session photos we can’t help but notice how easy it is for them to smile when in each other’s arms. We’re anticipating their upcoming wedding at the gorgeous Green Gables wedding estate.

Record Store Engagement Session :: Dan & Shima

We’re excited to share some images from Dan and Shima’s music (and other things they love) themed engagement session. Here are just a few from the record store segment. The music scene plays a large part in this Boston couple’s lives and their one requirement for us was to find a way to incorporate this into some of the images. We instantly thought of this record store which was kind enough to allow us to shoot inside. The best part was seeing Shima and Dan’s face light up, so cute not sure that they wanted to leave. No they didn’t want to, they came back the next day for more shopping and they scored some great souvenirs! Can’t wait for the wedding in Boston, we are going to have a blast – love you guys!

Headshots For Dancer Jeremy Zapanta

We had the opportunity to create something special for Jeremy’s professional dance headshots. He has been traveling to out of state auditions and needed some new headshots. Visualizing the perfect location and lighting with an edge, we set out to bring the best out in the talented dancer for this shoot. He’s got some moves, this was a fun shoot!

Jeremy Zapanta is a contemporary and classic ballet dancer. He recently performed in the Nutcracker Ballet at the Fox Theater, Riverside.Jeremy Zapanta’s journey from self-proclaimed jock to dancer began in a Burbank ballet school when he was 13. While watching his younger sister perform a routine, he nudged his mother and said, “I think I can do that.”

To his surprise, he wasn’t as naturally gifted in dance as he was in baseball and soccer.

“I took my first ballet class and hated it,” he recalls. “I was so sore afterwards. I didn’t know a plié from a tendu.”

Dance became a hobby, then a passion and finally a career goal for Zapanta. He auditioned for professional ballet companies after graduating from high school and performed in regional productions of The Nutcracker.

Immaculata USD Wedding San Diego | Sergio & Liliana

Sergio and Liliana’s Immaculata USD wedding. We have always admired this beautiful church and are excited to have photographed our first wedding here. When we received the beautiful extra large 9″x 9″ wedding invitation in the mail, we knew this would be a grand event. Liliana and Sergio worked together to make the wedding reflect their style, so many gorgeous details. One of the sweetest things was to see the way they gaze and smile at each other when they think no one is watching, but we always have our camera ready.

This has got to be one of the cutest church exits and one of our favorite shots of the day.

12 bridesmaids, 12 groomsmen! Plus ring bearer and flower girls…the other half are hidden in back. Liliana and Sergio have a lot of close friends and family, this group had a great sense of humor and was really fun to to photograph.
