Joe & Suzy’s Engagement Portraits

For their engagement portrait session, Suzy and Joe wanted to incorporate a few of the things they love into the shoot to make their photographs more personal.  The couple shares a love for espresso (just one of the reasons why we are going to get along with this couple just fine) and one of their ideas was to capture a few scenes of them enjoying a latte together.  Suzy and Joe also like to go to the desert in Joe’s truck  and we thought it was a great idea when they mentioned the possibility of using it as a personal prop during the session.  Joe put a lot of work into fixing the truck up (the truck now has doors on it but we’re glad we got to photograph before they got put on, there were so many great posing options this way) and incorporating this in a few shots with Suzy’s signature red lips and red heels made for some of our favorite shots in the session….although we had a lot of faves!  We are so excited to photograph their wedding in New York this summer!  Thanks Suzy and Joe for being so fun to work with.  ~xoxo~ yas + d

San Diego Engagement Photography, La Jolla Cove, Jeff + Blair

Jeff and Blair’s engagement session teaser from their La Jolla Cove engagement session.  There are so many backdrop options at La Jolla Cove, including downtown, nature scenes, and ocean.  We selected a close up photograph for the first teaser, we love how stunning Blair’s eyes look here.

Grape Day Park Engagement Session Photography, San Diego

From the moment we met Kallie we loved her personal style, and we fell in love with the idea of her vision for her engagement photography session.  Which was to be dressed in a casual outfit and cowboy boots, and her fiance Blake in a suit, and have the shoot take place in a field somewhere.  This couple is from Los Angeles, but came down to San Diego for their engagement session.  I love the field that we found just for them, (which looked extra pretty with the rain we had the previous week) , the session ended at Grape Day Park which worked out perfectly with the vintage elements the area had to offer.  Love that Kallie brought balloons in her wedding color, which worked perfectly for the front of the Save The Date cards we created to tie in with the wedding theme.

Trailer Trash Hollow Engagement Session :: Brandi + Chris

Here’s a new spot for an engagement session!  Love this engagement session that took place on the property that Chris grew up on, affectionately named ‘Trailer Trash Hollow’ since Chris’ dad likes to collect trailers, among other things.  Deshun calls this place ‘Disneyland’ because there are so many fun props and neat areas to to shoot within.  The rat rod was so much fun, love Brandi’s style, the red lips are perfect.  Very cool spot, enjoy your teasers, thanks Chris and Brandi for the session, wedding: next month already!! Cant wait!

Balboa Park Engagement Session :: Mindy + Eli

One of the must-haves for Eli and Mindy’s e-session was to incorporate their race car, and do some shots in their suits, to show their love for the Rally Racing they do together -I love it!  You can check out their website ‘Tommy Gun Rally Team’ by clicking here. Such a fun couple, can’t wait for their El Cortez wedding in April!

Balboa Park Engagement Session :: Jessica + Michael

Jessica and Michael chose Balboa Park for their engagement session, and specifically wanted to have shots taken at the Organ Pavillion.  During their shoot, ‘The National Anthem’ was being played on the organ, and the couple took a moment to listen and salute the flag.  Michael plays the lead trumpet in the U.S. Navy, and I love that he brought his instrument along so that it could be incorporated into the session.  Enjoy your sneak peeks guys, the rest are coming soon!
